Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Payroll Officer to assist with various accounting duties, including accounts payable, supporting accounts receivable, and preparing related journals and reconciliations. The role will also support the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 220 employees, on a fortnightly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Enter invoices, set up weekly payment runs, maintain supplier data, and respond to supplier queries.
- Accounts Receivable Support: Assist with invoice processing and distribution as required.
- Month-End Journals & Reconciliations: Prepare and assist with month-end tasks related to accounts payable and receivable.
- Payroll Assistance: Support the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring the accurate and timely payment of staff wages, salaries, and entitlements, in compliance with relevant awards and legislation.
- Provide advice and support to employees and management regarding pay-related matters.
- Perform other administrative duties as required.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in payroll
- Working knowledge of the SCHADS Award
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills
- Experience with salary packaging and Fringe Benefits Tax is highly valued
- Previous experience in a not-for-profit organisation is desirable
- Experience with Access Micropay is beneficial but not essential
